Are you relieved from fatigue after holidays?
Do you get rid of frustration and stress after holidays?
In fact, few people can answer “yes” to these questions.
People get depressed at the end of every holiday
These people have characteristics. For example, they feel better on Friday afternoons. But on Sunday evening, they get depressed. They face the reality that they have to go to work tomorrow. Ideally, they should be refreshed. But they can’t.
This is because stress has not disappeared. They may be able to get rid of their fatigue from the holidays. But they haven’t been able to get rid of stress. As a result, concentration and motivation do not improve.
Then, I will introduce how to relieve stress.
We tend to just relax when we want to relieve stress. But it turns out the most effective way isn’t relaxation.
I think there are many people who have the experience of wasting a day by doing nothing on holidays. But there is a better way than that.
Scientifically correct way to relieve stress at work
Learning new things can be surprisingly effective in relieving stress.
I always want to learn something new. But when I get busy, I can’t learn new things and feel very stressed. I was wondering why I feel stressed, so I checked the paper. I found that learning new things was a way to relieve stress. In other words, to live stress-free, we need to learn new things.
I introduce an experiment involving about 200 office workers. In the experiment, the subjects are divided into two groups. One is to try the so-called relaxation method, which is said to relieve stress, and the other is to learn new skills and knowledge about their work.
And it was verified which stress relief method was more effective.
The results showed that the group that learned new things was more resistant to stress. The experiment also found that the group was less likely to engage in cunning or unethical behavior.
For example, there are several indicators of stress:.
*steal company equipment.
*It makes it easier to cheat on someone.
According to the results, the group that learned new things also reduced such behavior.
Learning (For example, “Thinking of ways to improve work efficiency” or “Learn interesting knowledge in books”) is actually more stress-relieving than relaxing.
What new things can help expand the possibilities of work?
New learning doesn’t have to be relevant to your current job. For example, you can learn about the work you want to do in the future.
Have you ever thought of this? “If I had more knowledge of statistics, I would be able to make presentation materials well.” Or, “if I could speak other languages, I would be able to do more work.” Why don’t you learn the knowledge that will expand your job’s possibilities? By doing so, you can release more stress than you expect.
If you’re doing a lot of simple tasks at work, it’s a good idea to do something that uses your head.
I also recommend you to work in a way you’ve never done before. It is useful to devise for relieving stress.
Forest bathing is generally said to be effective in relieving stress. Certainly, forest bathing and relaxation are effective for normal stress.
However, when it comes to work stress, learning new things is more effective than other methods of stress reduction.
It is important to solve the stress fundamentally.
Work lasts a long time. I will start working again after the holiday. So even if you use holidays to relieve stress, it will start to increase again after the holidays. This does not fundamentally solve the stress.
Scientists believe that learning new things leads to a fundamental solution to stress at work.
Learning new things can help you solve stressful problems (For example, you may not be able to do your job well, or you may be in trouble at work.). In other words, as you learn new things, you’ll be able to cope with stress. That can reduce stress.
That’s not all. There are other good mental effects!
You can gain a sense of self-efficacy by acquiring new knowledge.
When you learn something new, you will acquire wisdom, which will give you a sense that you will be able to do many things. You feel like you can do it if I try. This sense of self-efficacy is that you can change the situation if you act. Self-efficacy is essential when fighting stress.
You can also feel like you’re moving forward as you learn new things. This sense of progress is the most important factor in our motivation. If you keep doing the same thing, you lose motivation. But if you feel like you’re moving forward, you’ll be motivated both at work and at school.
Learning new things and challenging new things are techniques that can be used by anyone, young or old.
A study of medical trainees at Johns Hopkins University also reached similar conclusions. That’s why learning new things can improve stress tolerance and relieve stress.
The study found that even those who are doing sensitive and difficult things are less likely to develop burnout if they are learning new things.
Learning new things protects us from stress.
I think there are people who don’t like work or think that work is hard. I recommend that such people try new things on holidays. I think it’s good to have a day to watch a movie leisurely at home. However, it might be a good idea to go somewhere you’ve never been before or take a step forward to something you’ve never done before.
